Mission Statement:
“
I believe that this nation is in enough distress as it is, so if there
is any way I can encourage anyone, either through speaking, listening, or
music, that's what I'll do. I can't change the world, but I can try to help
lighten the burdens of those around me.”
-Johnny Holliday
I first met Johnny Holiday in Anchorage, Alaska on Elmendorf AFB. He and his brother
(code name Double Portion) were giving a concert at the church on base.
I was up from Virginia Beach conducting some cold weather training with some other forks.
I and my friend Olin attended the concert because we had nothing else to do.
Well let me tell you, we were Blessed not only by the music but also the message that went with it on Jesus Christ. They rocked! And the music was awesome. Well afterwards we went over to thank Johnny and his brother and stared talking and we hit it right off. Before you know it we were at the local Jazz club and Johnny and Olin were up on stage during open mike night playing the trumpet and Olin playing the some blues on his harmonica (harp). It was great. I have no musical talent but I do know good music when I hear it. Well to make a long story short that was about 6 or 7 years ago and Johnny and I have been great friend since. For only meeting those few days there was bond that formed. Especially that we are brothers in Christ. We talk about getting together and some day we may. If not in this life, definitely in the next. Keep up the great work in your witness for Christ and commitment to our country, while serving in our military.
